Can tetracycline teeth be restored with porcelain veneers?

Tetracycline teeth are teeth of abnormal color and are an indication for porcelain veneer restoration. The advantage of porcelain veneers is that they can be restored with as little grinding as possible in order to change the color and shape of the teeth. Usually the color of the teeth after porcelain veneers are more natural and realistic. The ceramic materials used for porcelain veneers include feldspathic porcelain, cast porcelain, CAD/CAM cut ceramics, etc. The strength, color, transparency, and shade vary, and the price varies greatly depending on the color of your teeth and the bite condition after the consultation. Porcelain veneer technology is a porcelain restoration covering part of the tooth, using porcelain veneer bonding technology, is to protect the root, reduce the wear and tear on the tooth, for bad teeth, with porcelain restorative materials bonded to cover its surface, to restore the normal shape of the tooth and improve its color. It has good tissue compatibility, chemical stability, color coordination with natural teeth, good transparency, stable color and good wear resistance. Let’s learn more about the effect of porcelain veneers for light and moderate tetracycline teeth, the shading effect is still very positive. But even for mild to moderate tetracycline teeth, not all teeth can do porcelain veneers, porcelain veneers have many contraindications. For heavy tetracycline teeth, porcelain veneers are relatively difficult to achieve a complete shade effect, no matter how from the appearance of a little dark feeling. Of course, it certainly looks much better than before surgery. However, it is impossible to achieve the effect of a full porcelain crown. This is mainly due to the relatively small amount of tooth tissue removed, it is not possible to make the veneer too thick to achieve complete color coverage. Therefore, the effect of relative color shading is better, but the color quality is not always as clear as the crystal clear all-porcelain. Therefore, for those patients with very high aesthetic requirements, heavy tetracycline teeth are not very recommended to do porcelain veneers restoration.
