Peritoneal surface tumors include peritoneal pseudomucinous tumors, peritoneal mesothelioma and peritoneal metastatic carcinoma. Among them, peritoneal metastatic carcinoma mainly originates from implantation metastasis of gastric and colorectal cancers. Tumor cell reduction with peritoneal thermoperfusion chemotherapy can extend the survival time of patients by 40% to 60%, and is the best choice for patients with GI tract tumors without distant metastases. Thermoperfusion chemotherapy, which involves circulating a solution of chemotherapy drugs at 40 to 43 degrees Celsius into the peritoneal cavity, can improve the penetration of drugs and increase the effect of chemotherapy by 2 to 4 times, and is currently the best adjuvant chemotherapy method.
