Dangers of fever suppositories for babies

  Pediatric fever suppositories are milky white or slightly yellow suppositories, the active ingredient is acetaminophen, used for fever and headache caused by common cold or influenza. The main hazard of fever suppositories for babies is the increased burden of excretion by the liver and kidneys. Since the main function of fever suppositories is to reduce fever, the side effects are relatively small because they are used topically. However, if used in excess, it can cause hypothermia and nausea, vomiting, and even abnormal liver and kidney function, so it should be used according to medical advice, not on its own. For example, babies with hepatic insufficiency should be used with caution because the fever suppositories are absorbed into the systemic blood circulation through the intestinal tract to exert their medicinal effects, and then they have to be metabolized and inactivated by the liver through the blood circulation. This product is mainly for clearing fever, and should not be used continuously for more than 3 days. If the fever is not relieved, you should consult a doctor promptly. In addition, this product contains acetaminophen, do not drink alcohol or beverages containing alcohol while taking this product; do not take other anti-cold drugs with similar ingredients as this product at the same time, and use with caution if the liver or kidney function is not complete. If rash, urticaria and other allergic reactions occur, stop using immediately.
