Motor Level 1: Indoor Walking The patient is able or potentially able to move with a prosthesis or walk slowly on level ground. The length of time and distance he/she walks is limited to a large extent by his/her condition. The patient is or is potentially able to walk slowly with the prosthesis and over low obstacles such as curbs, steps, uneven surfaces, etc. The length of time and distance he/she walks is largely limited by his/her condition. Motor Level 3: Unrestricted Outdoor Activity The patient is or is potentially able to walk at moderate or fast speeds and varying gait speeds using a prosthesis and is also able to leap over most everyday obstacles. He/she is able to walk freely outdoors and perform daily activities. Motor Level 4: Unrestricted Outdoor Activity with Special Demands The patient is or is potentially able to use the prosthesis to walk outdoors without any restrictions. There is no restriction on the duration or length of distance he/she can walk. Also, high levels of vibration, tension and torsion are generated due to high functional demands.
