Does red urine necessarily mean hematuria?

Not necessarily. There are several possibilities: 1. Non-urinary tract bleeding: vaginal or lower gastrointestinal bleeding. Adolescent girls need to exclude menstrual contamination. 2, red urine: such as certain drugs, rifampin can make the urine turn orange-red. More urates in the urine of newborns can make the diaper stained red. Hemoglobinuria or myoglobinuria. Pigment in food such as eating too many oranges, carrots, etc. 3. Hematuria. Differentiation method: By routine urine examination of red blood cells can initially determine whether it is hematuria. Pigmented urine without red blood cells and urinary occult blood. Hemoglobinuria or myoglobinuria only positive urine occult blood without red blood cells.
