What causes eye pain

There are many causes of eye pain. The more common ones are caused by glaucoma, acute conjunctivitis, sclerositis, iridocyclitis, ocular fasciitis, keratitis, ocular trauma, visual fatigue, optic neuritis, retrobulbar optic neuritis, neuralgia, and so on. If there is significant swelling and pain in the eye, as well as loss of vision, accompanied by headache, nausea and vomiting, and examination reveals significant corneal edema, as well as dilated pupils and elevated intraocular pressure, it should be an acute glaucoma attack. If the eye shows obvious swelling and pain, headache, orbital pain, sometimes accompanied by significant pressure pain of the supraorbital nerve, it may also be caused by supraorbital neuralgia or visual fatigue. If the eye develops significant redness, swelling and pain, vision loss, and also photophobia and tearing, an examination at the hospital reveals ciliary congestion in the eye and significant cloudy lesions in the cornea, it may be caused by keratitis. If there is stinging pain in the eye with a distinct foreign body sensation, it may also be caused by a foreign body inside the eye, such as a corneal foreign body, or irritation from an inverted eyelash or stone. If there is trauma to the eye, it may lead to blunt contusion of the eye, fracture of the orbital wall, or blood accumulation in the anterior chamber, etc., which may also cause significant redness and pain in the eye. Therefore, if you find significant pain in the eye, it is best to go to the hospital ophthalmology department in a timely manner. Timely and effective treatment is carried out according to different diseases.
