Are most IVF babies developmentally delayed?

A recent study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) has officially confirmed that IVF babies do not have a higher incidence of developmental delays than children born naturally. Infertility patients have long been suspicious of IVF or other fertility treatments, and some studies have suggested that babies born under fertility treatments may have developmental delays, but this is not the case. treatment, including fertility drugs, IVF, etc. Overall, children born with the help of fertility drugs did not develop more slowly than their peers who were born to parents who conceived naturally. This is because whether or not the treatment involves intrauterine insemination, the child is ultimately conceived in the mother’s womb. Of course, there are some babies born with complex fertility treatments (intracytoplasmic sperm injection and human assisted infertility techniques) that show signs of developmental delay, but there is no evidence that these treatments have an impact on the birth of healthy babies. For example, twins are 34% more likely to be born through assisted human infertility treatment, compared to 19% more likely to be born through natural conception. It is well known that twins are usually born prematurely and that preterm babies are generally underweight, which increases the risk of developmental problems. And those who are infertile tend to be older, so from the data, it appears to be a treatment issue. To further validate this conclusion, the team selected 400 children aged 3 or 4 years old and conducted an assessment of their motor, language, and problem-solving skills, respectively. The results showed that 13 percent of babies delivered through infertility treatment were diagnosed with a disability, compared to 18 percent of those born naturally. Therefore, infertility patients can feel confident to go for the right treatment for them. It is best for women to go for IVF before the age of 35 and to abstain from bad habits during pregnancy.  Choose an experienced doctor to perform the egg retrieval procedure and choose a professional IVF hospital. Undergo a detailed preoperative examination and develop a reasonable ovulation plan. Avoid overexertion, strenuous exercise, abdominal pressure and collision, which may cause ovarian torsion. Multiple pregnancies are more prone to late miscarriage and preterm delivery than singleton pregnancies, and at the same time, the mother is significantly more likely to suffer from gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes, obstructed labor and postpartum hemorrhage. Therefore, multiple pregnancies are detrimental to both mother and child. For those who are pregnant with three or more children, reduction of pregnancy is necessary.
