Can prostatitis become cancerous?

Prostatitis has the potential to become cancerous and turn into prostate cancer. Current scientific research has proven that chronic inflammation is very closely related to cancer, and long-term chronic inflammatory stimulation can induce normal cells to initiate the cancerous process. Chronic prostatitis is a common disease among middle-aged and older male patients. Most prostate cancer patients have a history of chronic prostatitis and prostate hyperplasia before the onset of the disease, and because of this, middle-aged and elderly patients with chronic prostatitis and prostate hyperplasia should undergo regular prostate screening, usually by checking the blood prostate-specific antigen or PSA level and prostate ultrasound, to screen out patients with prostatitis who have developed cancer early and treat them early. This is a great way to improve the effectiveness and prolong the survival time of patients.
