How long can you live with skin cancer?

The survival period of skin cancer patients is related to many factors such as pathological type and stage, which should be analyzed specifically and cannot be generalized. Skin cancer mainly consists of skin basal carcinoma and skin squamous carcinoma, among which skin basal carcinoma is less malignant, and generally if it can be treated actively in early stage, most patients can achieve clinical cure and will not affect their normal life expectancy. Of course, if the patient has progressed to advanced stage, there is no need to panic too much, as active treatment can still significantly extend the patient’s life expectancy, and the survival period is usually more than 5 years. Although the malignancy of skin squamous carcinoma is relatively high, most of the early stage patients can have good survival after active and effective treatment, and some of them can even survive for a long time. If it has progressed to advanced stage, the survival period will be significantly affected, but it varies from person to person. Patients with skin cancer are recommended to go to the medical oncology department of regular hospitals for timely consultation, and professional doctors will formulate rationalized treatment plans according to individual patients’ conditions. If treatment can be carried out at the early stage of development, the chance of cure is very high.
