Infusion of antibiotics can not exceed how many days

The duration of antibiotic use is related to the specific condition of the patient. Patients with acute infectious lesions should not use antibiotics for too long to avoid side effects, while chronic conditions can extend the duration of use appropriately. There is no absolute limit to the duration of antibiotic use, depending on the type of infection, the severity of the patient’s condition and whether the patient develops drug resistance, dysbiosis, etc. In general, for common acute bacterial infections, the duration of antibiotics should not exceed 7 days, but the specific course of treatment should be analyzed according to the specific condition. For example, patients with acute bacterial pharyngitis and tonsillitis need to use 10 days, patients with acute bacterial prostatitis need to use 4 weeks, while chronic bacterial prostatitis needs to use 1-3 months. However, if drug resistance or dysbiosis occurs, the antibiotic treatment should be discontinued or changed. The use of antibiotics should be under the guidance of a doctor and abuse of antibiotics should be avoided.
