After lung metastasis or multi-organ metastasis of bowel cancer, patients’ life expectancy is usually less than half a year, and patients with single organ metastasis can survive for 2-3 years. The occurrence of distant organ metastasis of bowel cancer indicates that it is already in advanced stage of bowel cancer. There are big differences in the life expectancy of patients with different degrees of differentiation and metastasis sites of bowel cancer. For example, patients with lung metastases are mostly multiple metastases, and their prognosis is poor, and their life expectancy is usually less than half a year, and the 5-year survival rate is less than 20%. Patients who develop multiple organ metastases also have a much reduced life expectancy, usually no more than six months. If only single metastases are found, the prognosis is better, and the patient’s life expectancy can reach 2-3 years through a combination of treatment-based therapy such as chemotherapy and targeted therapy. The prognosis of advanced bowel cancer is poor. Patients should take standardized treatment in the early stage of bowel cancer in order to effectively improve the prognosis and prolong patients’ life expectancy.
