What is the reason for itchy feet in winter?

Causes such as winter pruritus and frostbite need to be considered. Winter pruritus is triggered by the cold and occurs most often in autumn and winter. Symptoms are exacerbated when the patient comes indoors from the cold or when undressing for bed at night, when the temperature suddenly drops, triggering pruritus or worsening symptoms. Frostbite, on the other hand, mostly occurs in the autumn and winter when the feet are not well kept warm and can be characterised by redness, swelling and, in severe cases, blisters on the feet. If the itchy feet persist without relief it is recommended that prompt medical attention be sought to further identify the cause.
