Why do I get itchy feet in summer?

Itching of the back of the feet in diabetic patients needs to be treated as soon as possible to avoid delay. The summer heat and wet shoes and socks can cause excessive sweating on the feet, which can irritate the skin and cause itching on the back of the feet. Summer pruritus often occurs in summer and is noticeable in high heat and humidity, and sweating often makes the itching worse. The skin of the feet is also more prone to tinea pedis in the summer due to fungal infections.
