Problems with Circumcision

What is foreskin The foreskin is the skin of the penis folded into a double layer at the head of the penis.

What is circumcision At birth, the foreskin is closely attached to the glans. In childhood, the foreskin is long and covers the entire head of the penis and the external urethral opening. As the penis grows in size and length, it is easier to pull the foreskin behind the glans. As youth develops, the foreskin recedes backwards, exposing the head of the penis and the urethral orifice beyond the foreskin.

If the foreskin can be turned up to reveal the glans, but the foreskin mouth is very small, covering no urethral opening, it is called prepuce.

What is a prepuce If in adulthood, the foreskin mouth is narrow, or the foreskin and the head of the penis are still attached, and the foreskin cannot be turned up to reveal the urethral opening or the head of the penis, it is medically called a prepuce When does a prepuce need surgery The first cannot be turned up to form a prepuce, the second often has recurring cases of glansitis of the foreskin, and the third even if it can be turned up, the foreskin mouth is too tight.

When does a pediatric circumcision require surgery? Adult circumcision requires surgery.

In infancy, the foreskin is long and wraps around the penis so that the glans and urethral opening cannot be revealed. This is called physiological prepuce and can be observed. However, if there is glans penis infection, surgery is required. There is also if the foreskin opening is very narrow commonly known as pinhole prepuce, which also requires surgery.       Circumcision is a cosmetic surgery Circumcision involves aesthetics and involves future function, and patients need to seek treatment from a specialist.
