How is myopia diagnosed?

1.How to confirm myopia diagnosis? Myopia in adolescents requires a dilated eye exam to eliminate the pseudomyopia component in order to obtain an accurate true myopia. 2.What is dilated optometry? There are two types of dilated eye examinations: fast and slow. The fast dilating medicine is tropicamide eye drops, which takes about half an hour or so to dilate the pupil, and it takes about 6 to 8 hours for the pupil to dilate and return to normal with photophobia. Children under 12 years old, especially those with hyperopia, are recommended to use atropine for their eye examinations. 3.Which is better, to wear myopic glasses all day or to wear them when looking far away? All-day wear can better exercise the adjustment function of the eyes, which helps to relieve myopia aggravation, so all-day wear is better. 4.Can myopia be corrected by acupuncture and massage? True myopia is due to excessive growth of the eye axis, there is no way to correct it. There are some acupuncture and massage myopia treatment centers in the community, often correcting only the patient’s pseudomyopia component. The most effective way to slow down the aggravation of myopia is to wear keratoplasty lenses.
