Frostbite – Winter and Summer Treatment

  Frostbite is a common winter skin condition, which is a limited inflammatory skin damage caused by cold. Frostbite can generally occur when the temperature drops below 10°C. In mild cases, it is painful and itchy when exposed to heat. In mild cases, it is painful and red, and itches when exposed to heat; in severe cases, blisters, erosions or ulcers may appear, leaving pigmented spots or scars after healing. Frostbite occurs on the hands and feet, cheeks, and ears, and is most common in women and children.  Although frostbite is not a major disease, it can cause a lot of inconvenience to people’s lives and work. Frostbite is mostly due to Yang deficiency, and the body’s ability to resist external cold is reduced due to insufficient Yang energy. That is the so-called “the righteousness exists within, evil cannot dry” meaning, fully embodies the Chinese medicine prevention-oriented thinking. “The purpose of treating frostbite in summer is to improve the skin’s ability to prevent cold, enhance the skin’s body resistance and skin density, and avoid the re-emergence of frostbite in the winter. Most patients do not suffer from frostbite in winter after using the medicine, and only a few patients have a slight recurrence in winter.  The characteristics of winter treatment for frostbite are: 1. flexible time, few times, fast and convenient. The so-called “time is wide”, refers to the choice of treatment time can be in any day during the three volts, and does not have to be limited to one, two, three volts into the day of the volt. The so-called “few times” refers to the fact that only one application is needed during the three volt period, and the ointment is applied to the selected acupuncture points according to the onset of frostbite.
