Can endometrial hyperplasia and adenomyosis coexist?

Endometrial hyperplasia and adenomyosis can co-exist.
Endometrial hyperplasia is generally caused by overgrowth of the endometrium due to prolonged progesterone-free antagonism of estrogen and prolonged stimulation of the endometrium by estrogen. Adenomyosis is also associated with estrogen regulation, caused by long-term stimulation of the endometrium by estrogen, leading to invasion of the endometrium into the myometrium. Both disorders are related to estrogen levels, so endometrial hyperplasia and adenomyosis can co-exist.
Endometrial hyperplasia can present with symptoms such as abnormal uterine bleeding, and adenomyosis may present with symptoms such as increased menstrual flow, prolonged periods, and menstrual cramps. Patients are advised to seek prompt medical attention and follow the doctor’s instructions for relevant treatments.
