Slant Neck Treatment Q&A

If the neck is found after birth, conservative treatment such as massage is possible. If conservative treatment is missed, surgical release can be performed. Can I treat my squinty neck as an adult if it was not treated as a child? Can facial lopsidedness and shoulder inequality be corrected? Myelomeningocele can still be corrected in adulthood to improve neck mobility. However, the facial deformity and shoulder disproportion caused by myelomeningocele cannot be corrected because the bones are already mature. How long does it take to recover after myotonic neck surgery? Can I go to work? Generally speaking, the hospital stay for the surgery is 3-5 days. Adults usually have to wear a brace for 3 months after surgery to correct poor posture and vision habits. You can go to work after surgery. I had a squint correction when I was a child, but the result was not satisfactory, can I have the surgery again? The recurrence of the squint after surgery may be caused by incomplete release or adhesions and can be operated again. Is there a big scar after the surgery?
