What is gluteal myofascial contracture

Gluteal myofascial contracture is usually caused by repeated intramuscular injections of penicillin (especially benzyl alcohol as an analgesic) into the buttocks of the child during infancy. On physical examination, it is found that the gluteal muscles are not full, there are depressions in the skin pattern and hard lumps like cords can be palpated, the child cannot cross his legs and cannot squat completely when his knees are together. In severe cases, it can be complicated by pelvic tilt, pseudo-isometric lower limbs, lameness, scoliosis, etc.    Our department adopts bilateral gluteus fascial contracture release surgery, which has many advantages such as small incision, less bleeding, short postoperative recovery time, and good surgical effect, etc. So far, we have relieved the pain of nearly 1,000 patients at home and abroad, which has been widely praised and recognized by the society.
