Self-assessment of femoral head necrosis

Patients with high risk factors for femoral head necrosis can be tested for the development of femoral head necrosis in several ways, as follows First, try pressing at the midpoint of the groin to see if there are any obvious pressure points. Secondly, tap and knock gently on the greater trochanter of the femur, which is the outer side of the hip joint, to see if there is any pain in the hip joint. Thirdly, take a sitting position, cross your legs and observe whether there is any hip pain. Fourth, take a single-legged upright position to observe whether there is pain in the hip joint. If you have pain in the hip or knee joint during the above tests, you should go to an orthopedic department of a secondary or higher hospital as soon as possible.
