Is it chronic bronchitis if you’ve been coughing for two weeks?

Chronic bronchitis cannot be diagnosed with a two-week cough alone. Chronic bronchitis, referred to as chronic bronchitis, is a chronic non-specific inflammation of the mucosa of the trachea and bronchial tubes and their surrounding tissues caused by infectious or non-infectious factors. It is diagnosed by clinical manifestations of coughing and sputum as the main symptoms, or wheezing, which usually lasts for 2 years or more, with a cumulative duration of more than 3 months per year, and by ruling out other diseases causing symptoms of coughing, sputum, and wheezing. Coughing for two weeks alone cannot diagnose chronic bronchitis; it should be combined with more history, signs, and ancillary tests to be definitive. If the diagnosis of coughing is not clear, it is recommended to go to the hospital and ask the doctor to evaluate and give a clear diagnosis.
