Binocular visual function perception training

The child is 5 years old, 2014.3.31. Atropine dilated pupillometry: right eye +1.00DS#-2.50DC*180=0.5 left eye +1.00DS#-3.00DC*10=0.4 alternating exotropia -25 degrees in both eyes, to prescription right eye -2.50DC*180=0.5 left eye -3.00DC*10=0.4 after six months with lenses alternating exotropia in both eyes Exotropia -15 degrees ~ -20 degrees. Binocular visual function examination: binocular segmentation, no dynamic and fine stereopsis. Only 75% of wide range stereopsis was present. In June 2014, we started the binocular visual 3D training platform. After one year of training, the child now has -3.25DC*180=0.8 in the right eye and -4.00DC*10=0.8 in the left eye, with orthotropia in both eyes and recovery of tertiary visual function. Stereopsis restored! Case reminder: This child’s parents paid attention to the child and the child was more cooperative, so a good outcome was achieved. For children with developmental amblyopia who have no stereopsis, active and serious training and glasses are fully expected to correct strabismus and amblyopia and avoid surgery. Let’s applaud and cheer for the efforts of Liang’s child and her parents! She will continue her high-level (dynamic and spatial stereoscopic, color and other visual stimulation) consolidation training twice a week (for the cost of one session only which can last for one year) to finally consolidate the effect.
