Treatment of corns, calluses and warts

Corns and calluses (scientific name callus) are both keratinous hyperplasia of the skin due to long-term compression or friction. The lesion is a yellowish cone-shaped corneal peg with the bottom up and the tip down, wedged into the skin like a nail, with the surface slightly higher than the skin surface, with the appearance of a soybean grain size, or slightly larger, like a chicken’s eye. The core of the corns penetrates deep into the skin, and the tip presses on the nerve, producing pain. There are two types of corns: hard corns and soft corns. Hard corns usually occur on the dorsal or lateral side of the toes, where they are in close contact with the shoe. Soft corns, on the other hand, often occur between the toes. The scientific name of callus is callus, and its etiology is the same as corns, also for abnormal pressure caused by the limited skin sheet keratosis thickening, but its lesions are larger, for plaque keratosis, there is no central nucleus. It is often an occupational sign, mostly asymptomatic and does not affect function, but in severe cases it can be chapped and painful. When pain arises it is called painful callus and is often the result of abnormal weight bearing. There is also a common foot condition called plantar warts, associated with viral infections, often occurring on the plantar side of the foot. The clinical presentation is very similar to corns and calluses and should be seen by a specialist for a definitive diagnosis and next step in treatment. In short, if corns and calluses produce significant pain, they should be noticed as they are often caused by abnormal pressure diseases and need to be treated accordingly after identifying the cause. Treatment If corns and calluses are caused by wearing inappropriate footwear, you can change to wear shoes and socks that are not subject to pressure to relieve friction and pressure, or supplemented by pedicure, corns cream treatment, can disappear and heal. However, if corns and painful calluses are caused by foot deformity or bony protrusion, after the above treatment, the cause is not removed, so it is very easy to recur, then we have to take surgical treatment methods to correct the deformity and remove the bony protrusion to cure.
