Are keratoplasty lenses effective in treating myopia and what should I pay attention to when wearing them?

A keratoplasty lens is a contact lens, unlike the contact lenses sold in opticians, it is a rigid contact lens, worn on the corneal surface to play a certain compression effect on the cornea, flattening the cornea, to achieve a daytime vision of 1.0 after wearing it at night, to achieve the vision of a normal life without the need for glasses. Keratomileusis is indeed effective in correcting myopia and can also partially slow down the development of myopia. However, wearing keratoconus is not a panacea. After wearing them, you still need to pay attention to the distance you read, read in bright enough light, don’t look at your cell phone or iPad and look at the computer as little as possible. If you think that wearing keratoplasty lenses is the end of the story and you don’t pay attention to good reading habits, myopia will still develop. The most fearful thing about wearing keratoconus is not following the correct method of cleaning and wearing. If you don’t pay attention to hygiene, then you will have corneal infection, you will have eye redness, eye pain, photophobia, foreign body sensation, vision loss, etc. If you don’t seek medical attention in time, you may have corneal ulcers, which may cause permanent damage to your vision. Therefore, patients wearing keratoconus lenses must follow a strict schedule for follow-up appointments. In the process of wearing keratoplasty lenses, the corneal epithelium may shift as the cornea is shaped and the lenses may become too tight. If this is detected at the time of the follow-up appointment and the lenses are relaxed in time, no complications will occur. The most important thing is to check on the website of the State Food and Drug Administration to see if the keratoplasty lenses to be fitted are certified by the state. Otherwise, it is difficult to guarantee the quality of the lenses.
