There are many diseases that cause dizziness, spinning and nausea in patients sleeping at night, the most common of which may be caused by posterior circulation ischemia, a condition for which patients must immediately seek treatment at a hospital. The posterior circulation ischemia may progress to infarction of the posterior circulation, resulting in acute infarction of the cerebellum and brainstem, and the patient needs to be given medication to activate blood circulation and improve circulation. If the patient sleeps at night with symptoms of visual rotation and nausea during head turning, it is considered to be caused by otoliths, which is benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, and the patient’s symptoms can be improved by doing manual repositioning. Dizziness, spinning and nausea at night may also be caused by cervical vertigo because of cervical disc herniation or stenosis of the spinal canal, resulting in pressure on the vertebral artery of the patient, which may manifest as dizziness, spinning and nausea, and can be treated by consulting orthopedics.
