When a specialist tells you that you have hemorrhoids, do not panic, but go to a regular hospital and actively treat them under the guidance of a specialist. The main principles of hemorrhoid treatment are: asymptomatic hemorrhoids do not require treatment; symptomatic hemorrhoids do not require radical treatment; conservative treatment is the main focus. So, what are the conservative treatment methods? (1) General treatment Pay attention to the regulation of diet, increase the intake of fiber-rich food, more fruits and vegetables, drink more water, avoid alcohol and spicy stimulating food; change the bad defecation habits, keep the bowel movement smooth, prevent constipation, take laxatives if necessary, wash the anus after the stool, sit in the bath with warm water every day; if the internal hemorrhoid is prolapsed, gently hold the hemorrhoid back into the anus with your hand to prevent further prolapse. Avoid sitting and standing for a long time, and exercise properly. (2) Medication Including external medication and oral medication, external medication includes various hemorrhoid suppositories, creams and lotions; oral medication is generally vascular tension protectants, hemostatic and other drugs. (3) Injection therapy Used in Ⅰ and Ⅱ degree internal hemorrhoid bleeding treatment, sclerosing agent is injected around the venous plexus of the submucosa to cause inflammatory reaction leading to tissue fibrosis, hemorrhoid nucleus atrophy, adhesion and fixation, to stop bleeding. The treatment can be repeated, but the injection of sclerosing agent into the mucosal layer causing necrosis should be avoided. (4) Other therapies Copper ion electrochemical therapy, microwave therapy, laser therapy, cryotherapy, infrared coagulation therapy, etc. Among them, copper ion electrochemical therapy is to pierce fine copper needles into the patient’s hemorrhoid area, using electrochemical reactions to trigger microvascular inflammatory reactions and tissue fibrosis in the hemorrhoid body, resulting in occlusion of the hemorrhoid vascular mass, to achieve the therapeutic effect of hemorrhoid body atrophy and stop bleeding. Because of the small diameter of the copper needle, there is no extensive damage and no bleeding or infection is caused. It is especially suitable for patients with poor heart, lung and kidney function, post-organ transplantation, old and frail patients who cannot tolerate surgery or other therapies have failed, and also for patients who have a great fear of surgery. Through the above active treatment, if the symptoms of hemorrhoids are significantly improved, then conservative treatment can be continued; if the symptoms are still not relieved, recurrent, and affect the quality of life, then surgical treatment should be considered.
