A recently operated case of a male, 54 years old, was admitted with facial spasm for 20 years, preoperatively with left peripheral facial palsy and left eyelid ptosis. He was diagnosed with left-sided auditory neuroma and secondary facial myospasm by preoperative MRA. The tumor was surgically removed and the postoperative myospasm was cured, and the facial palsy recovered after surgery. This is my first case, and there are few reports. Surprisingly, the facial palsy did not worsen after surgery, but healed instead, which is rare after auditory neuroma surgery. The tumor was found to have completely destroyed the MAC intraoperatively, and the facial nerve was sufficiently decompressed after intraoperative removal of the tumor, which may be the only explanation.
