The incidence of breast cancer in China is on the rise and is becoming younger, with many patients developing breast cancer in their thirties. The 5-year survival rate of breast cancer is very high, and many people can survive for a long time after mastectomy. This also raises the question of how to maintain a near-normal breast shape after mastectomy, allowing breast cancer patients to maintain a high level of quality of life. Breast reconstruction is one of the procedures that maintain a high quality of life for breast cancer patients. As the results of the surgery continue to improve, more and more women are undergoing this treatment. The following is a brief summary of several methods of breast reconstruction. I. Inferior abdominal artery perforator flap (DIEP) breast reconstruction. This is the most effective method of breast reconstruction that provides a large amount of tissue that is naturally consistent with the softness and toughness of the breast. The effect of reducing the waist circumference and abdominal circumference can be achieved while reconstructing the breast. It is a two-in-one solution. The advantage of this method over the transverse rectus abdominis flap method of breast reconstruction (TRAM method) described subsequently is that it preserves the function of the rectus abdominis muscle and reduces the incidence of abdominal wall hernias. Second, expander-prosthesis breast reconstruction. This is a very minimally invasive method with a high success rate. The skin expander can be placed under the skin of the breast at the same time as the breast cancer is removed. After gradual skin expansion, the expander is removed and a permanent breast implant is placed instead. C. Latissimus dorsi flap breast reconstruction. The latissimus dorsi flap contains a large volume of blood-rich flat musculocutaneous flap, which is suitable for repair of areas lacking blood supply or radiological defects. Some of the latissimus dorsi muscles are small in size and can be combined with the use of silicone prosthesis. Fourth, autologous fat grafting with BRAVA. using BRAVA with continuous negative pressure suction can create a cavity for subsequent fat grafting to become viable. V. Transverse rectus abdominis muscle flap (TRAM) breast reconstruction. This is also a method of breast reconstruction using abdominal skin and fat. It can achieve the effect of slimming the waist and abdomen while reconstructing the breast, but this method is a tipped graft, which requires a little removal of the rectus abdominis muscle, and there is a possibility of abdominal wall hernia. In addition, the position of the breast is not as random as the placement of the DIEP method of breast reconstruction due to the influence of the tipped vessels.
