Vaginitis belongs to the categories of “Yin itch” and “Below the belt disease” in Chinese medicine, and can be categorized into the evidence of Yin deficiency of the liver and kidney, the evidence of dampness-heat infiltration (dampness and heat invading the intestines, bladder, vagina, lower limbs, etc.), and the evidence of dampness-insect breeding. For the treatment of vaginitis, Chinese medicine can be used as Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan, Long Guo Di Huang Tang, Dioscorea Dioscorea and so on.
1. Liver and kidney yin deficiency syndrome: manifested as dryness of the vagina, whitening and shrinking of the skin, five heart-heat (heat in the heart of the hands and feet, and self-consciousness of the heart and chest), dizziness, red tongue with little moss, and so on. Treat with Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan plus reduction. The ingredients are Zhi Bai, Huang Bai, Shan Yao, Shan Zhu, Zedan, Mudan Pi, Poria, Zedan, Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata.
2. Damp-heat injection: manifested as itching and burning pain in the pubic area, yellowish color and quantity, sticky and foul-smelling under the belt. Use gentian diarrhea liver soup plus reduction treatment. This formula consists of gardenia, scutellaria, chaihu and other drugs.
3. Dampness insect breeding certificate: manifested as itchy pubic area, itchy and intolerable, with much amount, foamy or tofu dregs, and so on. It is treated with Dioscorea villosa. The composition is castor seed, cypress, mudanpi, zedoary, talcum, Tongcao, poria, coix seed.
