Snoring in children should not be ignored

When a child snores, some parents may think it is because their child is sleeping well, but in fact, the opposite is true: it is a problem with the child’s sleep, which may affect the child’s health and development. The common causes of snoring in children are adenoid hypertrophy and tonsillar hypertrophy. Adenoids and tonsils are both lymphatic tissues, and childhood is an important stage in the development of lymphatic tissues, which are prone to hyperplasia and enlargement. Adenoids and tonsils can block the respiratory tract, affecting the normal breathing of children and causing a decrease in blood oxygen saturation, which in turn affects intellectual and physical development. In addition, it can lead to recurrent respiratory infections, causing sinusitis, lung infections, etc. Long-term open-mouth breathing also affects the development of the child’s face, resulting in an adenoid face with uneven teeth, a small jaw and a long maxilla. Therefore, parents should pay attention to their children’s snoring and go to the hospital in time for consultation and treatment so that their children can grow up healthily.
