Seafood allergy symptoms

Seafood allergy is one of the most common allergic reactions that occur in the body, usually due to certain conditions caused by toxins or parasites in seafood. When an allergic reaction occurs in the body, the symptoms are mild and can lead to hives, swelling (angioneurotic edema) or intestinal reactions (vomiting, diarrhea). The skin may become red, swollen, hot and itchy. Headaches, dizziness, and panic attacks are also common. The most dangerous symptom is difficulty breathing or collapse due to a drop in blood pressure (shock), either of which can be life-threatening. Occasionally, breathing difficulties may occur from smoke inhalation while cooking seafood and from seafood processing plants. Children with a history of asthma may be more likely to have severe allergic reactions to seafood. When a patient develops these symptoms, avoid scratching the skin and do not apply hot water or irritating foods to the skin. In case of acute seafood allergy, patients should pay more attention to their diet and avoid seafood and other foods. If the patient is suffering from chronic seafood allergy, he should choose the appropriate method to eat, as well as to do the first aid measures for allergy.
