Preventive care for vertigo

Prevention and health care of vertigo (1) Proper treatment of rest and exercise Bed rest is needed during the acute attack of vertigo. After the acute period, there are two kinds of recovery, one is that the spinning sensation passes instantly, or wakes up and heals; the other is that after the severe vertigo disappears, the patient still continues to have dizziness, unstable gait, and dare not walk around. If long-term bed rest does not work, the patient should be encouraged to get out of bed, which is good for building confidence and maintaining optimism, and can also improve vestibular adaptability through exercise. (2) Build up confidence and insist on exercise Appropriate exercise is necessary for vertigo with serious impairment of vestibular function on one side, and it is even the only effective way to eliminate vertigo and obtain rebalance of vestibular function, and some scholars believe that its effect is even higher than that of drug treatment. The method is to choose several movements and postures that stimulate vertigo and to exercise them repeatedly so that the center receives abnormal stimuli several times and gradually becomes accustomed to them. Once the abnormal impulses are transformed into normal impulses, the vertigo disappears. For example, many seafarers are not used to drifting at sea when they first board a ship, and the vestibular organs of the inner ear are stimulated abnormally, and vertigo, nausea and vomiting appear. This is an example of how vertigo disappears through exercise. Daily prevention of vertigo 1. The diet of vertigo patients should be nutritious and fresh and light, with more eggs, lean meat, green vegetables and fruits. Avoid eating fatty, sweet, spicy things, such as fatty meat, fried things, alcohol, chili, etc. 2.Spiritual adjustment. The mental conditioning of vertigo patients should not be neglected. Mental stimulation such as depression and anger can lead to hyperactivity of liver yang or internal movement of liver wind and induce vertigo. Therefore, patients with vertigo should be broad-minded, optimistic, relaxed and emotionally stable, which is very important to prevent the onset of vertigo and reduce the attacks. 3.Rest and living. Excessive fatigue and lack of sleep is one of the triggering factors of vertigo. You should pay attention to rest and ensure sufficient sleep both during and after vertigo attacks. Patients with vertigo often have their symptoms reduced or disappear after waking up from sufficient sleep. In addition, we should try to avoid turning the head and neck back and forth, such as inner ear lesions, which can affect the vestibular system and cause vertigo attacks due to the change of head position; cervical spondylosis patients with neck turning or tilting can cause the vertebral artery to be compressed and affect the blood circulation, which can reduce the blood supply to the brain and cause vertigo attacks. The stimulation of sound and light can also aggravate vertigo, so it is better to have a quiet room with dim light or rest with eyes closed. To carry out vestibular function exercise, the first step is to determine the stimulating factors. The factors of vestibular exercise should be determined according to: (1) the movements and positions that can stimulate vertigo provided by the patient; (2) the positions or movements that stimulate vertigo found by the doctor during the examination, such as sudden head turning, head lifting, head lowering, bending, etc. List all the vertigo-inspiring positions and movements as general refinement items, starting with the easy ones and then the difficult ones. After determining the vertigo-inspiring postures, carry out field exercises twice a day, repeating the vertigo-inspiring postures and movements twice a day for as long as possible, repeating each movement more than 5 times, and training every day for 1-3 months in a row.
