A hard lump in the armpit does not necessarily need to be cut; there are many different natures of hard lumps, which may be lymph node enlargement or a tumour, for example.
If the lymph nodes are swollen due to inflammation, then medication is usually all that is needed.
If it is an enlarged lymph node due to a tumour or tumour, it will usually need to be surgically removed.
