What are the types of amblyopia?

Amblyopia is mainly divided into five types: the first is strabismic amblyopia, caused by the long-term inhibition of macular function in the strabismic eye by the cerebral cortex. The second type is refractive amblyopia, which is caused by the difference between the refractive errors of the two eyes, making it difficult to fuse the imaging of both eyes and inhibiting the eye with a large refractive error, resulting in amblyopia over time. The third type of amblyopia is refractive error, caused by high hyperopia, myopia or astigmatism without timely corrective glasses. The fourth type of amblyopia is form deprivation amblyopia, which is caused by the reduction or loss of light entering the eye during infancy due to ptosis, corneal clouding, cataracts and other factors. The fifth type of amblyopia is caused by other causes.
