Swelling and pain in the corner of the eye with clusters of blisters can be suspected as ocular herpes zoster, an infectious disease affecting the nerves and skin caused by the varicella zoster virus, which is contagious. The disease can cause severe pain in the eye and the affected skin often appears in clusters of papules and blisters.
