Lower extremity venous thromboembolism is treated by thrombolysis with urokinase, and the course of treatment is usually about two weeks.
1. Lower extremity venous thrombosis is the flow of blood through a vein, and when a blood clot forms within the blood, it blocks the return flow of the vein called thrombosis. Blood in a hypercoagulable state, stagnant blood flow, and damage to blood vessels are all causes of thrombosis. The more triggers there are, the more likely a clot will form. Venous thrombosis in the lower extremities can cause pain, mobility dysfunction, and so on.
2. Urokinase is the most common thrombolytic drug and is mainly suitable for thrombus that has already formed. Urokinase and other thrombolytic drugs can be used to unblock the blocked veins, which can effectively dissolve the thrombus and reduce the occurrence of the sequelae of embolism. The course of urokinase thrombolytic therapy is usually about two weeks.
3. Adverse reactions such as rash, bronchospasm, fever, nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite may occur in some patients using urokinase thrombolysis.
4. Severe hypertension, severe liver disease, hypofibrinogenemia is prohibited.
When the lower extremity venous thrombosis, we should go to the hospital in time, under the guidance of the doctor to use the appropriate method of treatment. It is recommended that the use of urokinase thrombolysis need to follow the doctor’s instructions, do not use privately, so as not to cause adverse consequences.
