Some patients with lung cancer may have metastases to the lymph nodes in the neck, resulting in a mass on the neck.
Lung cancer can spread to many parts of the body if it is advanced. A lump on the neck may be caused by lung cancer metastasizing to the lymph nodes in the neck, which requires a cervical lymph node aspiration or PET-CT to confirm the diagnosis.
Patients with advanced lung cancer who have metastases can be considered for chemotherapy if they are in good health, but the side effects of chemotherapy are significant and can cause serious other damage to the patient’s body, and patients are advised to take anti-tumor drugs to enhance the efficacy and reduce the toxic side effects of chemotherapy.
Patients with advanced lung cancer that has metastasized to the lymph nodes in the neck usually have more severe disease, and even with appropriate treatment, the effect will be worse.
