Fungal infections of the hands are contagious. Fungal infections of the hands are tinea cruris, which can be transmitted to others as well as to oneself, both from tinea pedis. In severe cases, it can also lead to fungal infections of the nails, causing gray nails or nail fungus. If it is serious, it can be transmitted to others through contact and needs to be treated promptly, mainly with topical antifungal medication, and it is recommended to alternate between two types of antifungal medications. If there is nail involvement, the rash is extensive and the disease is long, it is advisable to take oral antifungal drugs, either itraconazole orally, or terbinafine or fluconazole orally.
