A short period of mild palm fever without other discomfort is usually nothing to worry too much about and can be observed for a while. However, if the fever is prolonged and the symptoms are obvious, appropriate treatment needs to be given for different diseases.
Patients with viral hepatitis, for example, should be treated mainly with antiviral therapy, hospitalisation, bed rest and proper nutrition.
Acute attacks of chronic pyelonephritis require anti-infective treatment.
