A new method of restoring missing teeth: artificial dental implants

How do I get my teeth replaced if I am missing? At present, besides movable and fixed dentures, there is a new restoration method – implant denture restoration. Implant denture restoration is also called artificial dental implant, commonly known as “dental implant”. An artificial dental implant is placed on the alveolar ridge where the tooth is missing in the mouth, and after a period of osseointegration (3-6 months), a denture is placed on the abutment at the upper end of the implant. It has the advantage that the denture is fixed directly on the abutment of the implant without grinding the adjacent tooth tissue and can be fixed in the mouth for a long time without removing it for cleaning, feeling as comfortable as natural teeth, high chewing efficiency, beautiful appearance and easy care. It is known as the third set of human teeth after milk teeth and permanent teeth. Dental implants are generally available to patients over the age of 18 who can tolerate tooth extraction. If a patient has severe periodontal disease, he or she must undergo periodontal systemic treatment before dental implant surgery can be performed. The implant can be placed immediately after the extraction (especially for traumatized teeth) or one month or three months after the extraction, the exact timing being determined by the doctor’s analysis. The procedure of artificial dental implantation is as follows: the oral panorama is taken, the height and width of the alveolar bone is measured and the density of the alveolar bone is measured in order to design the artificial dental implantation plan; the oral cavity model is made, the implant guide is produced; the implant is placed in the alveolar ridge in the dental clinic, and after 3-6 months, the abutment is attached to the implant and the denture is restored on the abutment. After the installation of the artificial dental implants, they can perform the functions of normal teeth. The daily care is the same as for natural teeth, and it is necessary to maintain good hygiene habits and clean the denture with a toothbrush or dental floss.
