Are dental implants the preferred method of veneers? Are dental implants the best? The most confusing question for many veneer patients is what kind of dentures to get. Currently, there are 3 types of conventional veneers: dental implants, removable teeth, and fixed bridges. In my opinion, there is no preferred type of veneers, nor is there a best way, only the most suitable way. Different patients, different dental conditions, different physical conditions and economic conditions are suitable for different types of dentures. Therefore, we usually introduce the benefits and disadvantages of various methods in detail, and propose the best option and the second best option for the patient to choose. As an example, a patient has only 3 teeth left on his upper denture, so we rule out the fixed bridge approach first; then, we give several options of dental implants, removable dentures, and combined implant and removable restorations, and then introduce the advantages, costs, and possible problems that may arise from the use of each option in the future. The patient then has a better understanding of his or her potential treatment options and then chooses based on his or her situation. If a patient meets the criteria for dental implants dental implants are, of course, the most appropriate because they are closest to their own teeth, comfort and bite function are excellent, and they prevent shrinkage of the jawbone. Implants have been developed over the last 40 years and are very mature in terms of technology and materials. However, dental implants are also constrained by many factors, including bone quality, bone volume, mucosa, general physical condition, time, psychology, financial conditions, and there is a risk of failure of the implant itself. Only after the doctor understands these problems in detail can he evaluate the risk factors comprehensively and give a reasonable plan. A few final points: 1. Dental implants are not a new treatment as they have a history of 40 years. 2, Dental implants are very good and provide comfort and better eating function than both fixed bridges and removable teeth. But dental implants are not a panacea. 3, The overall success rate of dental implants is very high. The literature reports that it meets or exceeds the fixed bridge approach. The ten-year success rate of a skilled doctor should be around 95%, which means that for 100 dental implants, 95 of them will be good for ten years. 4. The pain level of dental implants is comparable to or less than that of tooth extraction.
