Pre-prosthetic psychological characteristics of amputees

1.Shock stage: From the integrity of the limb to the absence of the limb, the initial psychological reaction of the amputee often reveals a shocked state of mind. It is difficult to accept the reality for a while, which is expressed as crying and noisy behavior. From time to time, the language also reveals the emotion of not being able to, sighing and depression; 2. Negation stage: cannot admit the reality of what happened after the amputation, thinking that it is just a dream. When the dream wakes up, everything will be fine. Many amputees often do a momentary self-satisfaction in the psyche; 3, depression reaction stage: due to the continuous low mood, activity behavior is obviously reduced. Believe that they have become a waste, a burden to the family and a burden to their loved ones; 4, recognition of the adaptation stage: after the psychologist’s mediation after the above three emotions, amputees begin to think about seeking a way out of life.
