Can hemorrhoids be cancerous?

Carcinoma, also called malignant transformation, refers to some benign tumors that, if left untreated, lead to immature cell differentiation, excessive abnormal proliferation and transformation into malignant tumors. For example, adenomatous polyps of the colon can turn into adenocarcinoma. As the origin of hemorrhoids, the anal cushion is the lower end of the rectum, the lip-like inner burden, is a normal anatomical structure of each person, composed of some veins, muscles and fibers, it is rich in sensory nerve endings, is the anal reflex important sensory device, the contents of the rectum has a fine sense of discrimination, is the center of the sensation of the evoked bowel movements to maintain the normal defecation of the function of the activity, and the outward manifestation is the hemorrhoids of the lower part of the rectum and the anus tube under the skin. Its external manifestation is the hemorrhoids under the skin of the lower rectum and anal canal, the venous plexus expands, bends, bulges and becomes the venous mass, or called the venous vascular mass, which is essentially different from the tumor in the pathology and its clinical manifestation, so hemorrhoids won’t be cancerous from the point of view of the pathogenesis. However, it is also common to see some patients with hemorrhoids combined with anorectal cancer in the clinic. Some studies have shown that patients with a history of anal fistula, anal fissure, perianal abscess and hemorrhoids may lead to the occurrence of anorectal cancer, which is generally believed to be related to the long-term stimulation of anorectal chronic inflammatory secretions of these diseases. Therefore, although hemorrhoids will not become cancerous, it is advisable to treat them early.
