Do patients with fatty liver need a CT scan?

Patients with fatty liver need regular liver imaging, such as liver ultrasound or CT is a good choice, to check the severity of the disease. CT of the liver is one of the more common tests and can usually show a hypointense shadow. Most patients with fatty liver have a significantly lower CT value of the liver than the CT value of the spleen. Diffuse steatosis can be seen, so CT of the liver can be used to diagnose fatty liver and to find out if there is cirrhosis or other hepatic occupations. CT of the liver is an important imaging test that requires regular review and close monitoring of liver function and blood lipids.
