The first treatment (nail clearing treatment) is 4 weeks of iodine prohibition, and 25 days of stopping the use of eugenol. If you are going to have iodine 131 treatment after surgery, you need to make sure the bed is available before banning iodine and stopping eugenol due to the tight bed space.
