What to do about blurred vision

Blurred vision is a symptom of most eye diseases, such as cataract, refractive error, advanced glaucoma, fundus disease, optic nerve disease, etc. Treatment of blurred vision should be done at a hospital to identify the cause and treat the cause. The following three cases are more frequent in daily life and can be relieved or corrected by oneself: if blurred eyes occur after long time close eye use and can be recovered by closing the eyes and resting for a while, it is considered to be caused by visual fatigue or dry eyes, which can be treated by resting both eyes, applying hot compresses, and eye drops to relieve dry eyes and visual fatigue; if it is clear to see near and blurred to see far, it is considered to be caused by myopia, which can be corrected by myopia glasses or done If the blurred vision in the near and blurred vision in the distance is caused by presbyopia, presbyopic glasses can be used to correct the problem. If the following conditions are caused by other causes, you should go to the ophthalmology clinic for timely treatment: vascular disease (such as retinal artery blockage, retinal vein blockage, vitreous hemorrhage, ischemic optic neuropathy) should be treated with blood vessel dilation, nerve nourishing and blood-stasis activating drugs; retinal detachment should be treated with drugs or surgery depending on the cause; optic neuritis should be treated with hormone anti-inflammatory therapy; glaucoma should be treated with drugs and laser first. Age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and other fundus diseases should be treated with drugs or surgery according to the type and stage; keratitis and iritis should be treated with antibacterial eye drops, antiviral eye drops, antifungal eye drops or hormonal eye drops according to the cause; cataract can be left alone or choose eye drops to slow down the development of cataract if the cataract is mild. Surgery should be chosen for moderate cataract or above. Cataract is the main cause of painless chronic blurred vision in the elderly, and an experienced surgeon should be chosen for surgery after a clear diagnosis according to the condition affecting vision (corrected vision less than or equal to 0.6 is recommended). Blurred vision is a manifestation of most ophthalmic diseases. If it cannot be recovered by rest or glasses, prompt consultation with an ophthalmologist should be made to clarify the cause and treat the cause.
