How to treat astigmatism

Many myopic patients will have more or less astigmatism, the excimer experts at Tianjin Medical University Eye Hospital point out that in fact, low astigmatism is generally normal for distance and near vision, but if the astigmatism is high, it will cause the corresponding symptoms of blurred vision and fatigue. So how can astigmatism be treated? Astigmatism caused by crystalloids is rare, but some acquired astigmatism, such as long needle eyes or cornea on the eyelids, long-term poor eye posture, eyelid pressure on the cornea, can also change the curvature of the cornea and increase the astigmatism, these small habits in daily life are likely to have a great impact on the eyes, we must pay more attention. Treatment principles 1, regular astigmatism: can be corrected by different cylindrical lenses according to the type of astigmatism and the degree of astigmatism. 2, irregular astigmatism: can be corrected with corneal contact lenses. 3. High astigmatism in adults over 20 years old can be treated by excimer laser surgery. Excimer laser surgery can cure astigmatism at one time, fast and convenient. Excimer laser is a kind of ultraviolet light beam invisible to human eyes produced by excitation after mixing fluorine and argon gas, which is a cold laser and can precisely ablate the part of cornea expected to be removed without damaging the surrounding tissues and other eye tissues. Excimer laser surgery uses a cold laser with a wavelength of 193 nm, under microcomputer control, to act directly on the anterior elastic layer of the cornea, fundamentally changing the corneal curvature and reshaping the corneal curvature to treat myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism in just 30 seconds. Since it is a cold laser, there is no damage to the surrounding tissues of the eye, and it is safe, painless and fast.
