The compound surgery platform has greatly improved the effectiveness and safety of cerebral and spinal vascular treatment, and can cure spinal vascular malformations that were previously incurable. However, its hardware facilities are very expensive and require special surgical suites. Currently, large medical centers also tend to have only one room. Xuanwu Hospital has introduced a compound surgery room for joint use by neurosurgery and vascular surgery since 2012. At present, compound surgery has accumulated rich experience in neurosurgery for spinal cord vascular malformation, cerebral vascular malformation, cerebral aneurysm, and revascularization of the arch.
