Is a puncture biopsy harmful to the body

Puncture biopsy is less harmful to the body and basically harmless. Puncture biopsy is a common means of detecting tumor diseases by taking out part of the lesion tissue through puncture needle under MRI or B-ultrasound to check whether the lesion tissue is benign or malignant. Generally, the puncture will avoid the nerves and large blood vessels, and the puncture needle is extremely thin, so there is basically no blood flow, so there is no need to worry about hemorrhage, irritation of tumor tissue or metastasis of tumor along the puncture tract. Although pain may be felt during the puncture process, it is normal and local anesthesia can be performed before puncture if necessary. After puncture biopsy, the puncture opening needs to be compressed for about half an hour to avoid bleeding. Also, the wound should not be exposed to water too early to avoid causing infection at the needle eye.
