Patients with hypertension often have a red face; patients with tuberculosis will have scarlet cheekbones due to low fever.  Cyanosis: Mostly due to Qi and blood obstruction and blockage of blood vessels. Heart failure, congenital heart disease, liver disease resulting in excessive waste in the blood, etc., will turn the face blue.  Yellow face: Chinese medicine believes that yellow distinct belongs to damp-heat, yellow obscure mostly belongs to cold-damp; yellow face is shriveled, mostly due to weakness of heart and spleen, insufficient blood; yellow puffy face is spleen deficiency with dampness.  Dark face: mostly belongs to kidney disease or blood stasis evidence, often serious illness. In addition, long-term use of certain drugs, such as arsenic, anti-cancer drugs, etc., can also cause varying degrees of darkening of the face.  In terms of facial luster and moistness, healthy skin has a smooth secretion of sebum (oil) and sweat (water), and the skin will remain soft. Climatic causes can cause dry skin, such as windy and cold. Certain diseases can also dry the skin, such as diabetes, where fluctuations in glucose levels can make the skin dry and rough to the touch.
